Ten US dollars – US banknote.
Currently, on the front side of the banknote there is a portrait of the first US Treasury Secretary – Alexander Hamilton, on the back side is the building of the US Treasury Department. All banknotes currently in use are issued by the Federal Reserve System.
Appearance
Currently, tickets of the 1996-2013 series are in circulation. The size of the banknote is 155.956 by 66.294 mm (6.14 by 2.61 inches).
Slightly to the right of the center is a portrait of the First US Secretary of State Alexander Hamilton (despite the fact that, unlike other persons depicted on the US banknotes, was not the President of the United States, along with Benjamin Franklin.) On both sides there are seals: the System and US Treasury Department. In the background there is an image of the torch of the Statue of Liberty. The main view of the reverse side of the banknote is by the building of the Ministry of Finance, with the corresponding signature „US Treasury”.
According to the decision of 2015, a new banknote with the image of an unknown woman on the obverse was expected to appear in 2020. However, the decision was revisited in 2016 due to the increased popularity of Hamilton.
